Six Core Values guide Thornton Brothers as we work to be the best and most innovative distributor of paper, packaging, safety, and janitorial supplies. Each day we strive to be an industry leader, an involved community business and a dedicated service provider for our customers.

Willingness is the first word that makes up our W.E. C.A.R.E. acronym that is displayed throughout our office as a constant reminder of how we keep our clients’ needs at the center of all we do. As with all of our core values, willingness is a critical factor in how we carry out our business. Everyone in our company has a willingness to serve – we are willing to go the extra mile for our customers.

Seventy years ago our company began with a willingness to start and grow a business. In 1939, working against the ramifications brought on by the Great Depression, our company was started because Mr. Frank C. Thornton and his sons, Charles and James, were willing to take a chance on a small paper distributorship to serve the Athens area. Since that time, the company has grown in size, service area and product offerings because of each employee’s willingness to become the premier paper goods, janitorial supplier and industrial packaging supplier in the Southeastern United States.

Starting with willingness, we are committed to our values in everything we do; in fact, we start each business day by sharing a Thornton Brothers example of how we are furthering our core values.
